The BA Psychology curriculum aims to be responsive to the needs of Eastern Visayas in particular through a sharper focus on community psychology, which utilizes a socio-cultural perspective to understand and promote systemic and individual health and community wellness. In the context of Region VIII, which is characterized by natural disasters and a high incidence of poverty, a community psychology approach includes understanding the interconnectedness of climate change, social issues, and mental health, and developing relevant interventions grounded in local phenomena, experiences, meanings, values, and beliefs.
