The UP Alumni Association Leyte Chapter issued a resolution reiterating its endorsement of the request for a UP branch in Tacloban
Leyte Provincial Board through Resolution No. 275 reiterated its request for a UP BOR to establish a UP branch in Tacloban

University of the Philippines at Tacloban was inaugurated.
The following academic program clusters were created:
Through Executive Order No. 4, UP Tacloban was made part of UP Visayas
Groundbreaking at Sta. Elena, Tacloban. (UP under President Edgardo J. Angara)
Arts & Sciences and Management & Technology divisions were created.
UP College Tacloban, with UP College Cebu became a part of UP Visayas.
UP Tacloban was reorganized to have 4 Divisions:
