UP<3ME Program launched with sports training and dance workshop in Brgy. Sta. Elena

UP Tacloban’s Ugnayan ng Pahinungod launched the UP<3ME (UP Loves Municipality Empowerment) program of UP Tacloban College (UPTC) with a pickleball training and dance workshop for the youth of Brgy. 107 Sta. Elena, Tacloban City on 10-11 July 2024.

About 30 grade schoolers joined pickleball training sessions led by PE instructor and Waraynon Pickleball Club coach Aquilino Laguilles, along with other Waraynon pickleball players and UP Tacloban PE instructors. Concurrently, volunteers from the UPTC student organization Step UP conducted a hip-hop dance workshop for 18 children and teens.
The pickleball training and dance workshop are part of the UP<3ME program rollout in Brgy. Sta. Elena. The UP<3ME (UP Loves Municipality Empowerment) program is one of UPTC’s public service programs in line with its commitment to collaborate with communities and institutions in addressing critical issues confronting the Eastern Visayas region, the nation, and the world.

The year-long public service program in Brgy. Sta. Elena aims to promote physical fitness, mental health and wellness, artistic expression, self-defense, and environmental, financial, gender, and reading literacy among community members and strengthen linkages between UP Tacloban and the barangay.
