UP Tacloban Expands UPCAT Access Through Region-Wide School Caravan

7 April 2026

UP Tacloban’s Ugnayan ng Pahinungod spearheaded an UPCAT information caravan on 11 and 13 March 2026, reaching 86 public senior high schools in 63 municipalities in Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Samar, and Eastern Samar. A total of 6,179 Grade 11 students participated in simultaneous information sessions conducted by UP Tacloban faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and student volunteers.
The caravan is part of UP Tacloban’s annual Dayón Kamo ha UP campaign to encourage senior high school students to take the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT). The campaign aims to ensure wider dissemination of information on UP college admissions and scholarships and academic programs in UP Tacloban, particularly for deserving students from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in Eastern Visayas.
