The College of Science (CS) offers three undergraduate programs—BS Biology, BS Computer Science, and BS Applied Mathematics—and one graduate program, the MS in Environmental Science. Under the College are the Department of Biology and Environmental Science (DBES) and the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics (DCSM), which also offer General Education (GE) courses in the sciences, technology and society, and mathematics.

Graduates of the BS Biology program pursue careers in research, teaching, environmental management and conservation, and the health professions. BS Computer Science graduates find opportunities in the information technology industry, academe, and research institutions, while BS Applied Mathematics graduates pursue careers as statisticians, actuarial analysts, business and forecast analysts, data scientists, mathematical modelers, and other related professionals.

The College’s faculty conduct research in marine biology, natural ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, systems and networking, machine learning, artificial intelligence, information visualization, and mathematical modeling, advancing scientific knowledge and contributing to solutions for regional and global challenges.
