The BS Applied Mathematics program aims to produce graduates who can:
Exhibit mastery of mathematical concepts, principles, and theories in the core areas of mathematics, namely, algebra and analysis;
Demonstrate competence in problem formation and solving strategies in a wide variety of applications;
Use mathematical concepts and methods to promote cultural and natural heritage appreciation;
Apply analytical and quantitative skills in their profession with a strong sense of social and ethical responsibility;
Contribute to the development of the region and the nation through participation in the government’s policy-making process using mathematical models in proposing solutions;
Communicate analytic arguments clearly and concisely in oral and written form;
Lead effectively and work harmoniously in a collaborative setup to produce mathematically sound solutions; and
Engage in lifelong learning by promoting the interrelationship of mathematics and other disciplines through the use of different analytical and quantitative tools.
