Learning Outcomes

The BS Applied Mathematics program aims to produce graduates who can:

  1. Exhibit mastery of mathematical concepts, principles, and theories in the core areas of mathematics, namely, algebra and analysis;
  2. Demonstrate competence in problem formation and solving strategies in a wide variety of applications;
  3. Use mathematical concepts and methods to promote cultural and natural heritage appreciation;
  4. Apply analytical and quantitative skills in their profession with a strong sense of social and ethical responsibility; 
  5. Contribute to the development of the region and the nation through participation in the government’s policy-making process using mathematical models in proposing solutions; 
  6. Communicate analytic arguments clearly and concisely in oral and written form; 
  7. Lead effectively and work harmoniously in a collaborative setup to produce mathematically sound solutions; and
  8. Engage in lifelong learning by promoting the interrelationship of mathematics and other disciplines through the use of different analytical and quantitative tools.
