UPTC Leyte Samar Heritage Center conducts Digital Storytelling Workshop for SPA students

The Leyte Samar Heritage Center (LSHC) of UP Tacloban College conducted “Aton Mga Susumaton/Our Stories: Digital Storytelling Workshop” at the Cirilo Roy Montejo National High School on 30 January 2026. In collaboration with the UP Tacloban Ugnayan ng Pahinungod and BA Media Arts Program, the short workshop course benefited 30 learners from the Special Program for the Arts, who listened to lectures on how to create a short video story.

Resource speakers included Assistant Professor Antonino de Veyra (Conceptualizing a Digital Story), Mr. Leander Louis Oguin (Writing the Script), Assistant Professor Melchor Paete (Storyboarding & Curating Visuals), and Mr. Jericho Sandino Aliposa (Recording Voiceover and Assembling Sound and Images). Assistant Professor Gian Paulo Paglinawan, along with the resource speakers, facilitated the workshop session.

The digital storytelling workshop, which is aimed at honing the learners’ creative skills in producing their own stories utilizing short-form multimedia narratives and empowering them to become active media content creators, is part of LSHC’s Katluàn Calendar of Events in celebration of its 30th founding anniversary and the Pagpadukwag program, which seeks to strengthen people and communities through capacity-building activities.
