UP Tacloban’s Psych 188 class and UP Tacloban Gender and Development Program (GDP), held "LIVErary: Reclaiming the Narrative"

01 December 2025

UP Tacloban’s Psych 188 (LGBT Psychology) class, in partnership with the UP Tacloban Gender and Development Program (GDP), held “LIVErary: Reclaiming the Narrative” on 26 November 2025 at the Multi-purpose Building.

LGBTQIA+ individuals Christiana Permejo, Kyle Domequil, Bonifil Maroto Jr., Christian Cadion, and Arthur Jean Golong served as ‘living books’ who shared with the students their lived experiences, challenged stereotypes, and celebrated the rich, local, and cultural complexity of queer lives.

The term ‘liverary’ is a coinage from ‘human library’ where people serve as living books sharing personal stories with participants (the ‘readers’).
