UP Tacloban Won 8 Medals at the 2024 Eastern Visayas Regional SCUAA Meet

UP Tacloban’s Jun Khobe M. Sarcilla was crowned Mr. SUC 2024. He also received awards for Best in Formal Wear and Best in Talent. Sarcilla, a third year BS Biology student, will represent Eastern Visayas in the national Mr. SCUAA competition.
 
Kim Ashly A. Alar, a fourth year BA Psychology student, was named Ms. SUC 2024 1st Runner-up. She also won awards for Best in Formal Attire and Ms. Eloquence, along with two special awards: Ms. DITO Telecommunity and Ms. LARA.
The UP Tacloban Women’s Chess Team secured four bronze medals. The team includes Marie Daniell C. Durango and Nhaire Kyla R. Viros, both second year BA Psychology students; Bridgette L. Martillano, a second year BS Biology student; and Aira Marie E. Samson, a first year BS Biology student.
The UP Tacloban Arnis Team earned two bronze medals in the Arnis Combat category. Justine Rich A. Agabe, a second year BS Economics student, secured a bronze medal in the lightweight men’s division. Meanwhile, Genela P. Larido, a fourth year BS Management student, earned a bronze in the half-middleweight women’s division.
UP Tacloban’s student-athletes gave a good fight at the five-day Eastern Visayas Regional SCUAA competitions. Kudos to all UPTC student-athletes, faculty members, staff, and alumni who supported the 2024 SCUAA meet.
