UP Tacloban deploys first-ever exchange students to Thailand, Vietnam

12 December 2025

Three BS Economics students of UP Tacloban College have qualified for the UP Office of International Linkages (OIL) Mobility for Vigor and Excellence – University of the Philippines (MOVE-UP) student exchange program for the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025-2026.

Margaret Mae Acero and Kristel Mae Buenafe will study at the National Economics University (NEU) in Hanoi, Vietnam from 15 December 2025 to 30 June 2026, and Zandara Mae Petronio will attend the Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai, Thailand from 15 December 2025 until 31 May 2026.

This “sets an inspiring precedent that will encourage more UPTC students to take part in future international exchanges through the MOVE-UP Program,” said Assistant Professor Gian Paulo Paglinawan, UP Tacloban’s Internationalization Officer, during the brief send-off meeting of the three students with Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Professor John Paul Yusiong.

Also present at the send-off meeting were College Secretary and Registrar Assistant Professor Irma Tan and BS Economics program coordinator Mr. Axl Fitzgerald Bulawan.
