Symposium: "Blue Insights: Exploring Bodies of Water Using Remote Sensing.”
15 April 2025
Balik Scientist Dr. Remika S. Gupana spoke with UP Tacloban’s BS Computer and BS Biology students about the use of satellite data in water quality monitoring on 2 April 2025 at a symposium dubbed “Blue Insights: Exploring Bodies of Water Using Remote Sensing.”
Dr. Gupana earned her doctorate in geography with a focus on remote sensing from the University of Zurich and her Master of Science degree in hydroinformatics and water management from the Erasmus Mundus EuroAquae program offered by a consortium of four universities in Germany, England, Spain, and France.
The symposium was organized by UP Tacloban’s Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, which offers the undergraduate courses Fundamentals of Remote Sensing (CMSC 155) and GIS and Remote Sensing for Fisheries (Fish 134).
