The theme of this year’s anniversary celebration is “Pagtukod,” the Waray word for “to build” or “to establish.” The theme refers to the UP Tacloban community’s collective work of laying the foundations for growth and transformation in the university and in the region, currently through the ongoing construction of UP Tacloban’s campus in Sta. Elena and the continuing revitalization and expansion of its initiatives in teaching and learning, research and innovation, and public service.
