Congratulations! Dr. Rolly G. Fuentes - The Newly Appointed DOST-NRCP Visayas Regional Cluster Chair

Dr. Rolly G. Fuentes, chairperson of UP Tacloban’s Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, has been elected as the new chairperson of the Department of Science and Technology – National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NCRP) Visayas Regional Cluster.
 
Dr. Fuentes is the project leader of three ongoing DOST-funded projects: the Sustainable Strategies for Mussel Glycogen Upscale Production (SMuG-UP) project funded by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD); the Diversity and Antibacterial Activity of Ant-derived Actinomycetes from Mangrove Ecosystems in Leyte (Ant-Act) project funded by DOST-NRCP; and the Effects of Storage and Processing on the Chemical and Biological Properties of Alocasia macrorrhizos (talyan) and Its Food Product project funded by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD). He is also UP Tacloban’s College Research Coordinator at present.
