Asst. Prof. Efmer Agustin, the BA Literature program coordinator and Sentro ng Wikang Filipino faculty-in-charge at UP Tacloban College, presented a paper titled “Folk or Faux: How Historical Documents Counter Supposedly History-Based Narratives and Tourism in Some Leyte Towns” at the International Symposium on Cultural Tourism and Heritage Studies (ISCTHS) held in Bali, Indonesia on 6-7 March 2024. Asst. Prof. Agustin’s work sheds light on the complexities of historical narratives and their impact on tourism experiences. The symposium was co-hosted by The UP Asian Center.
