Faculty, officials, staff, and continuing students welcomed 403 first year students to the UP Tacloban campus on 11 August 2025, the first day of Academic Year 2025-2026, through Dayón 2025. This opening day activity included a general orientation for all freshies at the Library Hall, followed by concurrent degree program orientation sessions led by program coordinators and faculty, the Student Council-led IskoMerkado student organizations’ fair, and short tours of the campus led by volunteer students.
