UP Tacloban Celebrates 51st Anniversary with Merienda Cena, Discusses Future Growth with UP President

25 May 2024

UP Tacloban faculty, students, administrative personnel, and research, extension and professional staff (REPS) capped the college’s 51st anniversary celebration with a merienda cena at the newly refurbished hall on the 3rd floor of the College Library building.

The merienda cena followed a town hall meeting with UP President Angelo Jimenez on the UP Strategic Plan for 2023-2029, which emphasizes UP’s commitment to contributing to national growth and sustainable development by preparing graduates for the future, promoting public service for the common good, and ensuring transparent, accountable governance.

During the open forum, members of the UPTC community asked questions regarding the prioritization of culture and the arts, adequacy of student spaces and support for student activities, and plantilla items and an improved incentive system for faculty and administrative, research, extension, and professional staff.
