Following the public forums, the committee conducted sectoral consultations with faculty members, students, research, extension, and professional staff (REPS), administrative staff, and alumni to gather additional inputs relevant to the search process.

 

Prof. Marieta B. Sumagaysay chairs the search committee for the COS dean, with Prof. Augustus C. Resurreccion as the UP President’s Representative, Asst. Prof. Gian Paulo R. Paglinawan as the Faculty Representative, Roshyl D. Montel as the REPS Representative, Atty. Emaylyn A. Villegas as the Administrative Staff Representative, and Jasmin Zyress C. Sabulao as the Student Representative.

 

Asst. Prof. Arvin L. De Veyra leads the search committee for the SOH dean, with Asst. Prof. Giovanni Francis A. Legaspi as the UP President’s Representative, Assoc. Prof. Olga G. Corales-Ultra as Faculty Representative, Madelyn I. Aclo as REPS Representative, Jaremel C. Cadiente as Administrative Staff Representative, and Angelica Shane Decena as Student Representative.

 

Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Irene L. Tan serves as chair of the Search Committee for the CSSM Dean, with Prof. Ma. Joy V. Abrenica as the UP President’s Representative, Asst. Prof. Nelfa M. Glova as the Faculty Representative, Dr. Rhea Lina J. Saavedra as the REPS Representative, Avegearl Jean G. Ramirez as the Administrative Staff Representative, and Merry Grace T. Potot as the Student Representative.

 

This historic search for the first deans of UP Tacloban’s three academic units is expected to shape the university’s academic leadership and strengthen its continued pursuit of honor, excellence, and service as it begins its first three years as a constituent university of the UP System.
