DNSM conducts training on Biosafety and Research Ethics for Schistosomiasis Research

The Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of UP Tacloban College held a training workshop on “Biosafety and Research Ethics for Schistosomiasis Research: Focus on Oncomelania hupensis quadrasi” on 18 March 2026 at the AS Conference Hall and Zoology Laboratory.
Designed to promote research and collaboration to address schistosomiasis, a persistent public health concern in Eastern Visayas, the training included lectures and demonstrations on biosafety protocols, research ethics, and regulatory frameworks required in responsible and high-quality research. The participants came from research and academic institutions and partner agencies across Region VIII.
